Because today's art is influenced by the art that has gone before, I have studied art history.  This has led me to write articles about some of the great artists (see our artists biographies) as well as to make pictures of some of the artists who have inspired me.

Since many of these artists passed away before I was born,  my works are based on photographs.  However, I did not copy them directly.  Rather, my drawings reflect the impressions I have of these people based on my readings and by viewing their work.

In making these pictures, I used a number of mark making media, including graphite, charcoal, Conte pencil and pastels.  I used toned paper - grey, tan and blue - as the supports.
