Art by Valda

EARLY DRAWINGS

Picture of the artist ValdaValda drawing in the 1930s.
The tenth drawing in the portfolio is of an unidentified man.  Most of the drawings in this series identify the subject on the reverse side.  However, several do not.  The unidentified man in this drawing appears to be the English playwright and actor Noel Coward.   However, there is another drawing in the series in which the subject is identified as Coward.  While it is indeed possible that Valda returned to this subject, it would be the only time that she did so in this series.

The drawing is graphite on 8.5 x 11 inch light weight paper.
